In the late 1950s and early 1960s, there was a need to introduce drinking water to Los Mochis.
This city had water from the canals that did not have any type of treatment. Subsequently, the sugar company transferred the vital liquid in a tubed manner, after which it was treated with chlorine.
The potable water plant is installed and to ensure the supply to the inhabitants was necessary to create large pools that were supplying by gravity to this plant that was in the lower part of the hill of La Memoria.
La Pérgola in the 60s was a center for art exhibitions, fairs, plays and also great dances, where great orchestras, renowned artists, and local groups were very fashionable among youth. It is in these years when the legend of "the woman in white" arises that as a result of this history, in 1967, the dances stopped being realized.
